Origin and Plantation
The Tarrazu growing region is located south of the capital San Jose. When Columbus dropped anchor in Costa Rica, there was still no coffee to be found. Only 250 years ago, the first plants were brought to the country from Cuba. Today, there are more than a hundred coffee trees per citizen.

Planting Information
This is the finest coffee from small producers located in the region between San Marcos de Tarrazú and Santa Maria de Dota, the heart of Costa Rica's world famous Tarrazú coffee region. The coffee is harvested exclusively by hand, which ensures that only the ripe red cherries of the coffee are used in production. The traditionally fermented, washed and dried coffee goes through four more processes that strongly affect the quality: it is sorted by size, colour, density and weight.
