Welcome autumn with open arms
With the arrival of autumn, many of our routines undergo changes - less sunlight, colder... Let yourself be inspired by our suggestions while respecting the concepts of sustainability and reuse. Welcome autumn in style!
Decorate the walls
Bet on paintings and photographs placed in frames and ornament them with leaves or dried flowers. Alternatively, you can also make a wreath out of dried leaves and use it to decorate your front door or as a centerpiece.
Bet on lighting
In addition to creating a more intimate and welcoming environment, you'll also be taking advantage of the empty bottles and jars you have in your cupboards. Use the Christmas lights to decorate the outside of the glass bottles or, alternatively, place a candle inside a jar and decorate the outside with fabric scraps and dry leaves.
Festive days
All occasions are good excuses to renew the style of your home. On Halloween, have fun with family or friends preparing the traditional pumpkins with candles inside and take the opportunity to make the house more ghostly, scattering some paper bats, candles or candlesticks.
Take advantage of holidays and commemorative dates to let your imagination fly!
To encourage this mission, we have selected two projects that will help welcome the new station:
AUTUMN CROWN
Making a crown is easy! You will only need to take into account a few aspects when creating it, in order to guarantee its stability. Glue, at the base of the wreath (it can be made of sponge or cardboard), the dry branches, flowers or straw, making sure that they are well secured. Always start with the largest elements and add the smallest, thinnest items on top. Lastly, secure dried fruit or small flowers with hot glue or string if they have holes.
WREATH WITH DRIED LEAVES
For this project, you will need:
– Colorful tree leaves
– White beeswax
– Pan
- Nylon wire
Melt the beeswax in a water bath (without bringing it to a boil) and, holding it by the stem, dip the leaves alternately. Gently shake off excess wax.
Let the leaves dry (you can use clips to hold the leaves). Cut different lengths of nylon thread and attach a leaf to the stem at the end of each thread. You can hang the wires directly from the ceiling, with small hooks or even on a dry branch. You can also make a mobile and hang several wires around a round shape.
If you follow our suggestion and use wax, the leaves can be preserved and reused the following year. If you don't have wax, the wreath can be made natural: when the leaf is damaged, just replace it with a new one.
Have a good time!
