Each 45g bar has 210Kcal and 22g of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after high intensity and/or prolonged exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles. This beneficial effect of carbohydrates is obtained by ingesting a total of 4 g per kg bodyweight of an adult, in several doses, during the first 4-6 hours after high intensity exercise.
As it contains a high fibre content it helps to balance appetite levels.
