Origin and Plantation

The Sidamo producing region is located in the south of the country on the edge of the Ethiopian mountains. Coffee is grown in small peasant structures. Another well-known coffee region in Ethiopia is Harar, one of the largest coffee producing regions in the world and even the birthplace of coffee. Today, the country is the largest and most important exporter of Arabica. Around 12 million Ethiopians make their living from coffee cultivation, mostly small plantations.
